FIHRRST Unveils Groundbreaking 2023 Study on Corporate Sustainability Reporting in Indonesia

December 2024

Jakarta, December 10, 2024 – The Foundation for International Human Rights Reporting Standards (FIHRRST), with support from Moores Rowland Indonesia, the Embassy of Belgium in Jakarta, and in partnership with KOMNAS HAM RI, released their fifth yearly study on Corporate Sustainability Reports of Indonesian Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for 2023.

The event included speeches from FIHRRST Founder Marzuki Darusman, Belgium Ambassador Frank Felix, IDX Director of Finance and HR Risa E. Rustam.

Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Performance

FIHRRST’s research concentrates on sustainability performance measures that meet Indonesia's regulation (POJK No. 51/2017) and the GRI Standards. Various groups discussed subjects such as ensuring human rights are respected, the EU's Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the significance of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects in sustainability reports. The talks covered ways for Indonesian companies to match international standards and apply the best methods for human rights and sustainability.

The event ended with awards for companies with the best sustainability reports, including 19 companies that received FIHRRST’s highest rating (A+) and 22 companies that received the second-highest rating (A).

Ali Rahmadi, Operations Director, FIHRRST, was hopeful about Indonesia's dedication to human rights and sustainable growth, noting the increasing interest in corporate openness.
