Webinar on The Rise of ESG: ESG Reporting that Meets Investors’ Need

FIHRRST and Moores Rowland Indonesia conducted a webinar on 10 June 2021, focusing on the ESG Reporting that Meets Investors’ Need. The Chair of FIHRRST Marzuki Darusman emphasized the importance of managing the social component of ESG, particularly respect for human rights and CEO of Moores Rowland James Kallman underlined that managing and improving ESG aspects are crucial for companies to be sustainable. 

Agus Saptarina, Director of Accounting Standards and Governance of Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) highlighted that OJK has included in OJK’s regulation No.51/POJK.03/2017 on Sustainable Finance Implementation the material ESG aspects that public companies need to manage and report. Saptono Adi Junarso, Head of Listed Companies Service and Development of Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) stressed that BEI has continuously introduced the ESG adoption and consideration through education and product development.

In the first session, moderated by Bahtiar Manurung, FIHRRST Operations Director, Nicholas Gandolfo from Sustainalytics, Tofan Wibisono from PT. BUMI Resources, Tbk. Linda Chandrawati from Bank BCA, and Sera Noviany, from APP Sinar Mas discussed the ESG information frequently asked by investors and challenges and action in providing the ESG information. 

In the second session, moderated by Satriyo Giri Saputra, the panellists shared their knowledge on ESG Reporting and Assurance. Hendri Yulius Wijaya, Country Program Manager Indonesia, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) introduced the latest GRI sector standards. Yanuar Rusdianto from PT Bank BTPN Tbk and josua partogi from PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (Persero) shared the contents of their Sustainability Reports and the challenges encountered when developing the reports. Dendi Trisnadi, Sustainability Assurance Service Manager Moores Rowland Indonesia elaborated sustainability report assurance process and the benefits of assurance.
