Precautions Measures to Limit Spread of COVID-19
March 2020
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared COVID-19 (also known as Coronavirus) a pandemic, as the disease has impacted people across the world at a rapid and unexpected pace. While certain groups of people have been deemed high-risk by WHO, everyone is susceptible to contracting this potentially life-threatening disease. The health, safety and overall wellbeing of our clients, our employees and their families must be a top priority.
With this in mind, we have looked to health experts (i.e., WHO) for guidance on how Moores Rowland Indonesia (MRI) can minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19, while continuing to serve our clients in a safe and effective manner. In accordance with recommendations from the WHO, we asked some of the MRI employees to remain at home when sick and/or to practice good hygiene (e.g., wash/sanitize hands regularly). We have also postponed gatherings that could directly expose clients, staff and/or participants to COVID-19.
While we can help reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 during business hours, we understand that the disease may be contracted in other spaces. Out of an abundance of caution, and to further promote “social distancing” during the crisis, we are heeding the advice of the WHO and President Joko Widodo during the press conference at Bogor Palace on 15 March 2020. We temporarily modify our attendance policy to reduce potential exposure to our clients and staff by facilitating and encouraging employees to work from home where possible.
Our customers are very valuable for us. We understand that applying this work from home program would need specific guidelines to ensure all the requirements needed to work remotely are going smoothly. Having the proper technology, using secure connection, implementing communications programs, and setting clear expectations are among the few things that should be fulfilled.
As companies’ policies may vary, we are very open to discuss the best possible way to work with our clients through these times. Be assured we will do everything we can to continue to serve our clients and relevant stakeholders safely and will continue to follow the guidance of the WHO and national health officials.
